Best Sims 4 Poses Mods and CC Packs to Download

Sometimes vanilla game animations in The Sims 4 can be… repetitive. Nice. Sometimes too moderate, sometimes too exaggerated. And if you’re a story-based Simmer who loves to capture stories or create them using TS4 graphics, the limitations can be extremely annoying.

Sometimes you just want to take photos of your Sim running across rooftops, lounging in bathtubs, or hanging out in a pile of mid-summer dogs with their friends. And The Sims 4 Vanilla can’t give you that.

But once again, the creators of Sims CC deliver.

This time we are looking for the best custom poses. Buckle up, grab a snack, and make yourself comfortable. Because there are many. I’ve divided my options into three categories, just to make them easier to digest: Group poses, individual shots, and shots that need props.

Pretty self explanatory so let’s dive right in.

Group Poses

Custom poses that look weird and a bit out of context if there is only one Sim doing them. Grab two or more Sims for a great photoshoot and a great time.

To use these poses, you will need to install Andrew’s Pose Player. To position your Sims correctly (as the poses intend), you will need the “Teleport Any Sim” mod from Scumbabo.

1. Sibling poses by ratboysims

Whether your Sim’s children love each other, hate each other, or are utterly indifferent to each other, you can still get a sweet and heartwarming photo of the two of you.

All you need is a pose player, a Sim teleporter (all links in the category description), and absolutely sunny background.

I recommend the Sulani beaches. Absolutely beautiful at any time of the year.

There are four poses in this pack, and they are for toddlers and kids only.

You can definitely have two kids or two toddlers (rather than one of each), but keep in mind that some of these poses need Sim A to carry Sim B, so it… Better to consider logistics before setting up.

2. Collection of sitting and talking poses of ratboysims

This pack of 40 (!!) different poses is perfect for so-called “stolen shots” or story-building scenes. It’s funny how the simplest actions (i.e. having a conversation) can be so complex.

Do not misunderstand; I love the animated way of talking in Sims 4 as much as the next Simmer. (Shout out the way TS3 Sims spoke though; those animations were iconic.)

But sometimes you want something a little less cartoonish and a little more… genuine. Realistic.

That’s where these poses come in.

From subtle brow raises to small finger gestures, leaning forward in anticipation, or slumping back in frustration, these poses perfectly capture the bodily idiosyncrasies of having a spontaneous conversation.

3. Friends Times by Memoriesplasticine

Capture the camaraderie of your Sims with this cute Times of Friends pose from Memoriesplasticine.

Now, there are a lot of group shot poses out there. Trust me; He.

But I love poses that don’t make it look like your Sims are deliberately posing. Basically studio setups versus candid and stolen photos.

I’m totally in favor of the latter, which is why this humble group with two good poses for five or six Sims spoke to me. Models look relaxed. Completely at ease. Just another day with his team of friends who die together.

That they are specifically not looking at the camera.

The first pose is good for a group of six Sims. The second can only accommodate five. However, there should be no problem if one or two people are missing.

Nothing the camera angle can’t hide, anyway.

4. “Let’s Walk Together” Pose Pack by clumsy alien

Another conversation pose pack?

Yes, but this time they are standing.

Really. The little physical perplexities that come out when conversing with another person are fascinating.

And there is something strangely endearing about how soft the models look in this pose pack. It is as if they are having a legitimately entertaining and/or stimulating conversation.

As with the Times of Friends poses, these poses are best suited for spontaneous and involuntary scenes.

Solo shooting

It’s time for your Sims to shine.

These solo poses put you squarely in the spotlight (and focus) of the shot. These offer a variety of positions that your Sim can take without the need for any accessories or furniture around them (i.e. chairs, beds, etc.).

As always, you will need the Pose Player from Andrew Studio. But since these are all standalone standalone poses, you won’t need the Teleport Any Sim mod from scumbabo.

5. Model Poses 19 Posepack and CAS by HelgaTisha

For the sexy, sassy, and downright sassy Sim, these custom poses scream effortless power and natural toughness.

Let your Sim’s face and body do the full talking because they definitely have a lot to say.

There are 14 original poses in this pack and five default CAS poses (specifically, the poses for the Evil trait). All of the original poses have a certain level of confidence and sex appeal, with perhaps a touch of conceit coloring in the expressions.

Basically perfect for Sims who know they are hot.

You really won’t need anything else for these poses to work; just the pose player and a heckuva brave attitude.

And perhaps an appropriately fiery undertone.

6. Pose 3 only

It may be from a different creator, but this pose is the literal counterpart of the previous Model Poses 19 pose pack.

While that pack was perfect for strong, daring, and independent female Sims, this pose pack allows male Sims to show off their confidence and sexiness in style.

Of the ten poses, most have that absolute and assured alpha vibe; high back, casual but cool demeanor, slight peacock. But there are two or three surprisingly shy poses from the guy next door that are included in the mix.

7. Bad Bitch Redux by slans

Check Out of this CC

If you are looking for more daring, grungy poses, not to give a tent for women (again), this pose from Bad Bitch Redux of Slans could be the ideal for you.

Forget the playful jokes; These poses are very warning viewers to keep their distance, lest a fashionable leather boot be shoved up their ass and some select words thrown at them.

Intimidating, sure, but also visually pleasing. It basically portrays the sheer power of the carefree woman, and who doesn’t love that?

Do you have some Sims who are not afraid to hit the man? Take these poses and start pressing “C”.

Poses that need accessories

So these are basically solo shots with props.

I thought I’d separate them from the group just to make it clear that they need something extra to work with, be it a bed, a desk, a chair, or a little pumpkin cupcake.

So don’t download these and wonder why your Sim is floating in the air.

As always, Andrew’s Pose Player is a must. And for poses that require furniture, you’ll also need the ever-reliable Teleport Any Sim mod from scumbabo.

8. Halloween Gift 2020 collaboration with BackTrack by wasabi sims

See this CC

For wacky gals, alluring mermaids, lords of the underworld, and ghoulish boys and girls, Halloween never really leaves you.

It’s not so much about a vacation as about a state of mind.

So say it out loud and say it proud with these cute creepy wasabi sims poses. There are ten in all, and they all, in one way or another, tell a story.

With the right accessories, of course.

(Otherwise, you would have a boy gesturing in the air and a girl cradling nothing.)

If you want to set up the scenes correctly, you’ll need these cute BackTrack Halloween props, which the creator of these poses had a collaboration with.

09. Thoughts !!! by Pandorassims4cc

If you prefer your Sims to be brooding and contemplative in the comforts of their home (instead of being on the street, squatting on curbs and park benches), that can be arranged. With these strange, but certainly artistic, quasi-contortionist poses.

For the record, I prefer to reflect on things in my bed, preferably surrounded by soft pillows and blankets. But if you’re the type to contemplate your worries in an office chair, cross-legged and your hand fluttering shakily over your heart, do it.

There is no judgment here.

Plus, it’s a pretty creative photoshoot.

Quick note: any chair, base game, or otherwise, will work in these poses, as long as the height is not altered.

10. Phone call poses from ratboysims

These poses are on my personal favorites list. And here’s why.

I mean, I understand that the concept is not unique. God knows there are a lot of phone conversations for the Sims 4 out there.

There are not many options in the package either. With a total of six poses, it’s enough to be called a pack, but it’s pretty low compared to most pose packs that offer more than fifteen variations.

However, the expressions in this pack really blew my mind.

I’ll be the first to admit that many custom poses put me off due to facial expressions. I mean, I get it. It’s in the name: poses. You are in this for what the body does.

But when all the effort is focused on how the body looks, it leaves the face looking pretty. And I’m not a big fan of myself. If my Sim is going to throw a cannonball into a pool, climb a cliff or parkour on a bench, I want to see it in their faces too.

So that’s why Ratboy’s Phone Call Poses convinced me. The model’s expressions are so soft, so cute, and so beautifully unfiltered, you can really feel how comfortable she is talking to whoever is on the other end of the line.

And don’t forget to bring the phone accessory (courtesy of quiddity, creator of Sims CC)!

11. Bathtub poses by rue

Look at this CC

As I said before; lots of custom phone conversation poses.

This is no different. But!

I will argue that the concept is marginally more unique. Thousands of Sims would think of holding conference calls in their bed or on the couch.

How many actually take it to the bathroom?

So bonus points for a rare twist on this fairly common concept. I can appreciate an unconventional resting place as much as the next person and, hey. If your Sim is more comfortable curled up in a bathtub, let him be.

However, I’ll be honest. I came for the bathtub, I stayed for the expressions. I already gave all my “I want to see emotions!” spiel in the previous post, so I will not reiterate. What I’ll do is point out that the creator made four variations of each pose (five poses in total) based on four different emotions: neutral, worried, angry, and happy.

This is the kind of attention to detail that I love.

Again, you will need a phone. You can use the quiddity prop if you’ve already downloaded it, or you can use this one from r-Jayden, which is what the pose creator recommends.

12. Come to my window + hula zombie open window poses

Come to my window Poses

Open window poses

I am combining both because (1) they are from the same creator and (2) the Open Window Poses package needs the .package file of the Come to My Window package object.

So I thought, why not?

I really enjoyed both packages. They’re quite unique, spinning a similar narrative, and featuring two different takes on the same concept – what if your Sim was locked inside and the window was only in contact with the outside world?

It doesn’t have to be dramatic either.

I mean sure; You can go the whole “abusive/overprotective authority figure keeps you locked up in your bedroom” route. You do it. But you can also put it in the context of running away after all this craziness.

13. Bored in bed Poses by katverse

See this CC

Do you know those days when you felt absolutely and inexplicably glued to your bed?

No rhyme, no reason, just a big helping of boredom and laziness doused with a healthy dose of boredom. There is nothing good on Netflix, your social media feed is particularly quiet, you are unproductive and restless, and there is nothing you want to do about it.

Except maybe rolling onto his back and staring at the ceiling because his right shoulder is starting to cramp and he’s tired of staring at the door.

That’s the exact narrative this pose pack is meant to depict, and it does so quite beautifully.

Five poses in total and all you really need is a bed (a basic set of custom content should work fine).

14. Katverse’s No Mood Pose Pack

See this CC

I know that The Sims is a simulation game and therefore it is literally designed to mimic real life. But heck. Never before has it resonated so strongly with a computer-generated being.

Seeing the preview photos was like seeing snapshots from my usual Wednesday night.

That’s what confinement will do to you, I suppose.

Like the pack above, these five poses perfectly capture what it means to be lonely, listless, and lazy. The biggest difference is that this pose pack captures the essence of trying productivity, but it falls short.

Each. unique. hour.

Sometimes you’re just not in the mood to socialize. Or functioning like a normal adult. Happens.

And if we really want our Sims to reproduce our lives, then these poses are necessary to capture those quintessential states of languid dissociation.

TL; DR: This pack of poses? Relatable. Download it asap. As for accessories, the creator used this laptop from Simsational Designs and this beer bottle (as a CAS accessory) from Lumia.
