If you have a creative side (and I’m sure you do), you probably need a special place to do your crafts. Whether it’s sewing, woodworking, pottery, or drawing, everyone should have a personalized workspace, even on their Animal Crossing Island.
As a comic book writer, I am currently working on creating a comic book store for my island as my personal creative workspace.
And if you want to create a fun place to let your creativity flow, then I have a ton of great workshop ideas here for you to try.
Table of Contents
15. Mini crafting station
If you are a minimalist, a small workstation like this may be just what you need.
Start by crafting some log dining tables and a simple DIY workbench.
At the tables, display all of your materials such as wood, hardwood, softwood, branches, weeds, iron nuggets, stone, clay, and even bamboo.
Whatever you want! That’s the goal of this workspace: it’s all you.
I also like the bonfires added here to tie this simple design together.
14. Small garden workshop
Maybe doing some creative planting is your craft scene. Well, in that case, maybe try this outdoor garden workshop.
First, select a nice wooded area and create a couple of booths to display your creations.
I also want to point out that most of the plants on display in this idea are actual craft items, so you will actually have to do some work on this.
You can make items like terrariums, bamboo spheres, and bonsai pine trees to sell.
Some plants are also available for purchase that you can add to your inventory, such as a monstera, a floating biotope pot, or even an anthurium plant.
13. Outdoor craft area
Perhaps you are an expert in all trades and only need a general area for creative work.
To make this cute outdoor workshop space, start by laying out some custom wood outdoor flooring patterns.
Next, create tons of furniture like an iron shelf, a wooden cupboard, a DIY workbench, an iron wooden kitchen, and a basic sink.
Oh, and be sure to create a wooden toolbox. That way you have many tools at your disposal.
12. Botanical workshop
Maybe you’re looking for a vibrant indoor environment to do some crafts.
So here’s a fun little idea worth building on.
Start with a white brick wallpaper and a yellow floral floor, although any colored floral floor could work just as well.
Next, be sure to create your workshop essentials such as a DIY workbench, tool rack, iron shelf, and wooden toolbox.
Now you just want to decorate the room with tons of plants for the walls, the tables, and the entire floor.
Fan palms, monsteras, terrariums, floating biotope planters, coconut wall planters, and hanging terrariums are just a few of the options for this workshop idea.
11. Zen style workshop
For many players, creating spaces puts them in a place of peace.
A state of Zen, so to speak.
Therefore, a zen-style space may be the right subject for your workshop.
Start by setting up a small space with some fences. Zen fencing, to be exact.
Next, create some ironwood tables and display some plants, like a biotope pot. Plus, creating a Zen shelf is an easy way to add even more plants here.
Once you have your DIY mini workbench, you are ready to start working in this peaceful environment.
10. Workshop and maintenance room
Now here’s a fun interior idea if you’re someone who likes a modern office business.
Start with dirt wallpaper to give your room that dingy basement feels.
Be sure to include some standard shop supplies, such as a DIY workbench, tool rack, corkboard, and tool cart.
I like the extra items here, like a vacuum cleaner and a sign on the floor, to suggest that this is a room that really gets some maintenance work.
And if you want even more here, buy a rock guitar and amp. That way, you can play some tunes when you’re on a break.
9. Body shop
If you are a grease monkey and your thing is to work on cars, create a workshop like this little body shop!
I would start this idea by laying down some custom flooring paths. I think white wood works really well in this case.
Then, shop for items like retro gas pumps, restaurant neon signs, and a counter table.
Then you can create a DIY mini workbench and iron shelf to store something.
After that, you are ready to open up and let the race car beds rollback for inspection.
8. Station for wrapping Christmas presents
Perhaps you need a specific place to wrap all those gifts for your island villager friends.
Then try setting up this wrapping paper station with some simple posts and panels.
Customize simple panels to display shelves of finished wrapping gifts. Surprisingly, it is not too complicated to build!
And you definitely want to create some stacks of gifts out of red wrapping paper and then accessorize them in a bunch of color styles.
And don’t forget a toy box so you have plenty of presents to wrap for everyone.
7. Repair and carpentry
While Lyman sleeps, you better work hard in this outdoor repair shop.
To do this yourself, install a lot of iron fences and iron shelves, which you can create from iron nuggets.
At an outdoor table, you will also want to display a cartoonist’s game and soundboard.
Also, buy multiple garbage cans, cans, and bins to display along with cardboard boxes of various sizes, shapes, and designs.
Don’t forget the conference room bench too, once Lyman is up and back to work!
6. Cool fashion studio
If creating your own clothes is more your style, then definitely set up a fashion studio to show off all your fabulous designs.
You can do this by purchasing a loom and study table. This is where you will do most of your design.
Then honestly go crazy with displays of your favorite custom designs and custom clothing.
Some of my favorite designs featured here are the blue owl, the water dragon, the green snake, and the red and blue heart sweater.
Of course, you are free to display the designs you want. Because this is your workshop.
5. Able Sisters Seamstress
On the topic of creating clothes, you might want to try setting up an outdoor workshop for the Able Sisters.
For this idea, you will want to create a log bench and display some stacks of magazines and a sewing machine.
Other items you can craft / purchase include a loom, spinning wheel, and piano bench.
I really like the natural garden table and chairs set up as a small workstation. It seems perfect for anyone to pursue creative sewing.
4. NASA Workshop
3… 2… 1… Take off!
This design is sure to feel out of this world.
Many of us probably dreamed of being astronauts when we were kids. But if you prefer to build shuttles, you can create them in this special area of the workshop.
The concrete wall and tile floor help set up a basic room, which is all you really need to get down to business.
Next, craft a DIY iron shelf and workbench so you have a place to do your engineering.
Also, create some space recipes that you have obtained from Celeste, such as a rocket, a moon, or an astronaut suit.
Finish the room by showing off your favorite outer space clothes like zap suits and spacesuits.
Houston, we have a great design here!
3. Santa’s Workshop
I’ve seen many ACNH ideas for Santa’s workshop and this is by far my favorite for one simple reason:
This player added rows of lawn gnomes to act like the elves at work.
If that’s not adorable, then I don’t know what is!
To start this idea yourself, place your gnomes on log stools in rows of log dining tables.
Be sure to create a large festive tree as well. Because you can’t have Christmas without a tree!
So, you will want to make a lot of toys. That’s what elves would do, right?
But do your best on these. I’m talking about toy boxes, scooters, wheelies, model trains, and tricycles (just for starters).
Oh, and buy a Nintendo Switch so a lucky kid can play Animal Crossing just like you!
2. Ceramic studio
Pottery can be a really fun hobby, as long as you have that soft touch.
If you want to build a custom studio like this, start by installing some iron workbenches.
At the tables, display some sets of unglazed and patterned plates that you have made from chunks of clay.
I love modeling clay because it can be customized to look like dinosaurs and cakes of many different colors.
So all you need to create is some brick kilns so you can light your clay creations.
1. Build-A-Bear Workshop
Build-A-Bear can be a very fun experience.
Kissing a fabric heart before putting it on a bear is a little weird, but it’s still pretty fun.
And if you want to re-create a Build-A-Bear workshop at ACNH, you have a lot of work ahead of you.
Obviously, you want to buy a ton of bears. Mama Bears, Papa Bears, Baby Bears, Pandas, and you can even make a puppy stuffed animal if you wish.
Then create some creative tools like DIY mini workbenches and rocking horses to add to the fun.
Once you buy a loft bed with a desk, flip it over and put a sewing machine on top.
Now you are ready to literally build a bear, just like Stitches. Looks like it’s coming from Build-a-Bear, huh?
If only the actual Build-A-Bear Animal Crossing collection had so many plushies to choose from.
